Malan Breton Spring 2010 Collection
September 19, 2009

“Flight of Freedom,” a black-and-white image of Malan Breton’s friend Leigh Alderson from the Royal Ballet, shot by Dublin’s Karin Pritzel was the inspiration for his Spring 2010 collection which took place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan last Monday, September 14, 2009.
Malan Breton transformed the Metropolitan Pavilion into a night at the theatre. The warm yellow lights and New York City’s Chelsea Orchestra created the ambiance. While the 30-piece orchestra played a melodic symphony, the models showcased Breton’s evening wear collection. Breton used silks, neoprene, lace, cotton and wool to create a story of regal debonair men and high-society women infused with whimsy and dance for his Spring 2010 collection. His color scheme included lavender, gold, poppy, amethyst, sapphire, marigold, red and platinum.
Spring 2010 collection is Malan’s first foray into menswear, further expanding the Malan Breton Collection with a touch of Saville Row.
