GMA 7 Network unveils Miss World Philippines 2014 Official Candidates
The journey has officially began for twenty-six aspiring beauty queens as GMA Network reveals the official candidates who will vie for the Miss World 2014 Philippines crown.
Celebrating women from all walks of life, Miss World 2014 Philippines screening judges led by National Director Cory Quirino, handpicked hopefuls who have something special to offer, moving beyond good looks and pleasing personality.

The aspiring beauty queens went through a rigorous screening process. The ladies had to walk the runaway in their long gowns and swimsuits and prove that they could speak their minds in the question and answer portion.
"Every batch is refreshing and exciting because all of them are just unique. They have different personalities, different outlooks, but all of them have one goal and that is to win the crown of Miss World 2014 Philippines and eventually to be Miss World." Quirino said.
Last year, the Philippines reached a significant milestone when Miss
Megan Young became the first Filipina to be crowned Miss World.
Driven by its advocacy, “Beauty with a Purpose”, Miss World Philippines believes that there is beauty in giving. As a shining example of the heart and soul of Filipina womanhood, the winner along with her court will put beauty to good use by caring for the marginalized women and children of the Philippines through various charities.
The Miss World 2014 Philippines Pageant will be held on October 12 at The Mall of Asia Arena and viewed nationwide in GMA Network’s Sunday Night Box Office. Viewers all over the world may catch it through GMA Pinoy TV.
After his successful stint with Mr Manhunt International in 2012 bringing home the first victory for the country, June Macasaet dared his appeal on television with ABS CBN teleserye “Dyesebel”.

International Beauty Pageant to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from Sept 16 to October 7. The nineteen year old Pinay-Swedish beauty from Puerto Galera, Mindoro Oriental left the country last September 16 via Philippine Airlines to compete with more than 100 beauties around the world for the coveted title of Miss Grand International 2014 currently held by Janelee Chapparo of Puerto Rico.
"It’s a big honor for me to represent my country the Philippines in an international pageant arena. Ms. Grand International is relatively new in the field of international pageants but it continues to grow and attract pageant fanatics around the globe. It became a grand slam pageant on its first year of existence". Kimberly says. "Part of my game plan is to win the heart of the Thai community, this year host country. I’m sure it will not be that hard because Filipinos and Thais have so many common denominators aside from being a country with so many beautiful people inside out". she adds .

Pinay Beauty Queen Academy, the newest Reality TV Show that focuses on the rigors and arduous path that an aspiring beauty queen has to go through in preparing her to enter the highly-competitive world of beauty pageantry was formally launched in a Press Conference held last Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Fisher Mall, Quezon City.
To be hosted by Miss Ali Forbes (Ms. Grand International 2013 3rd Runner-Up) with popular comedian-singer and stage actress performer Joy Viado as special segment host, the one-hour weekly episode will feature twenty lovely young women, chosen from among hundreds of applicants nationwide, on their different aspects of physical and mental preparations in fulfilling their dreams of becoming a beauty queen. The girls were group into four teams with one mentor for each team, who will guide them on the different challenges that each group and even individual contestant has to face.

Twenty-one year old stunner from Rizal Province is the Philippines official representative to the 2014 edition of Miss Globe International Beauty Pageant. Princess Edilyn V. Ramos, a degree holder of BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Tomas Claudio Memorial College is looking forward and ready for the international competition. “I am nervous but excited in my coming international pageant. This is a dream come true for me to represent my country in the international pageant arena” Edilyn says. Standing at 5 feet seven inches tall, she loves singing, dancing and surfing the net. ” At the moment, I am busy preparing for the competition physically and mentally. I’ve been through a lot of trainings in the past month from pasarela, personality development, social grace and how to speak in front of a big audience. I am lucky that I have my family’s approval and support in realizing my ultimate dream, that is to become a beauty queen” she added. The 2014 edition of Miss Globe International Pageant will be held at the Cystal Hall, Capital City of Baku, Azerbaijan from September
6 to 14. The pageant will be participated by more than 100 countries from different part of the globe. The pageant is an annual celebration of beauty as well as of multiple culture and heritage among the contestants. The pre-pageant of Uni Silver Campus Ambassador was held last Sunday, August 31 at the Roof Deck of Emar Suites in Mandaluyong City. 10 boys and girls made it to the finals on September 6, 2014 at the SM Manila Activity Center. Winners of special awards are Jonnas Ocfemia and Maruskah Zabarte named Campus Model and Ms. Friendship respectively. Twenty six gorgeous men all across the country and from international Filipino community were formally presented to the press and media as official candidates of Misters of the Philippines 2014 in a Press Presentation held at the Lancaster Hotel Manila, the official residence of the pageant.
The candidates, who hail from different backgrounds- nurses, models, a Social Studies teacher, even a side-car driver and a police officer-all to compete in the most prestigious male pageant in the country today in hopes of bagging one of four titles at stake and bring honor to the country.

This is the first time that the international pageant is being held in Asia. There will be a swimsuit round for the contestants but they will be wearing one piece swimsuit only. All the ladies will required to be decently dressed all the time.
The reigning Mrs. Universe is Carol Lee of Malaysia. Previous winners came from Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Findland, Venezuela and Colombia.
Previous Philippine delegates to Mrs. Universe were: Camila Kim Galvez ( 2009 Mrs. Universe 2nd runner-up), Muriel Moral (2010), Erilene Noche-Tumali (2011), and Joy Castillo-Pasidis (2012).
Aside from being a beauty queen, Hemilyn is also a philanthropist, model, TV host, image consultant and beauty pageant trainer. She was Mutya NG Pilipinas 2005 finalist, Ms. All-Nations winner at the Ms. Globe International 2005 pageant, Miss Petite International 2006 finalist and Best In National Costume winner, and Miss Global Asia winner at the Miss Global City 2008 tilt.

Kimberly Beltran Karlsson of Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro was crowned the first ever Miss Grand Philippines 2014 last night August 16 at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural center in UP Diliman, Quezon City. She bested 18 other hopefuls to win the right in representing the Philippines at the annual Miss Grand International 2014 to be held in Bangkok, Thailand this coming October. 11. First Runner-Up honor went to Rosevemme Marie Fajardo of Surigao Del Sur and 2nd Runner Up went to Mary Theresa Erna Gomez of Tarlac.
